Really looking forward to the London Arts Experience trip on 11th and 12th of July with a back stage tour of the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, a visit to the Tate Modern, a West End performance of 'We Will Rock You', a performance workshop at Pineapple Studios and a trip to Covent Garden.

New courses starting September 2011

The Performing Arts Department are introducing new courses in Dance and Drama from September 2011.
GCSE Drama, GCSE Dance, A-level Theatre Studies and a Double Dance BTEC (equivalent to 2 A-levels)

Performing Arts at WHS - first BLOG post woo hoo!

I'm a big fan of ICT and couldn't wait until our own blog is set up to get posting.
The Performing Arts team have been busy planning extra curricular activities for 2011 / 2012. I am very pleased and excited to announce that our school production is 'Grease' (student choice). I promise it will be our biggest and best yet so I need lots of you to get involved, even if performing arts isn't your thing - come along and join the fun, after your first performance you will be addicted to the buzz of performing to a live audience.
Also coming up is the Withernsea Dance Challenge (our very own in school version of Rock Challenge). Mrs Grantham will be leading assemblies in September to tell you all about it.
Lunch time clubs will also be back with Dance Club, Cheerleading Club and a new Musical Theatre Club.
There are lots of opportunities so remember that it is YOUR Performing Arts department so get involved.
